The Singapore River has always been picturesque. Back in its hey day, thousands of bumboats bustled about, hundreds of godowns tightly lined the riverside, and numerous labourers toiled diligently, drenched in perspiration.
Moved by these scenes, our veteran painters took to their brushes, crafting vivid masterpieces brimming with emotions.
In “Memories of Singapore River”, the director compellingly transports viewers back to simpler times through sincere conversations with veteran painters Lim Tze Peng, Tan Chor Tee, Low Puay Hua, and Singaporeans who resided along the river etc.
The Singapore River has endless stories to tell. Amidst the delightful harmony of music and film, let us revisit and rediscover this collective memory worth holding dear.

新加坡河，百年至今，都是一道迷人的风景线！
当年，千百艘驳船穿梭在河上，河畔上数百家排比紧挨的货栈，无数苦力挥汗如雨，辛勤的劳作。这些动人的情景，牵动了画家们的激情。他们挥笔描绘出充满情感的画幅。
往事并不如烟。在影片《忆记新加坡河》中，导演真诚地与画家林子平、陈楚智、刘培和以及河畔老街坊的访谈和对话，娓娓道出当时纯朴的邻里生活所留下的珍贵回忆。
新加坡河永远有说不完的故事。
让我们在音影乐声里，重拾这令人无限缅怀的旧日时光。
